This midcentury lake cabin in Northern Wisconsin has served as a vacation home for a growing family since the 1980s, becoming the central location for decades of family gatherings. As their children have grown and the clients looked ahead, they asked us to renovate the cabin in a way that preserves its unique architectural character while enhancing the main purpose of their home – making memories with family and friends while connecting with the beauty of the lake setting. We completely remodeled the kitchen and dining area, adding professional grade appliances, beautifully functional cabinetry, a generous island with seating for six topped with a gorgeous quartzite countertop in a suede finish. Next it was on to the primary and guest baths, both outfitted with walnut cabinets, handmade Heath brand tile, quartz countertops and Kallista fixtures. This project was recently featured in Fine Homebuilding magazine.
